SAC-2016
The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is the apparel, footwear and home textile industry’s foremost alliance for sustainable production. The organization’s membership represents approximately 50% of these industries.
The Coalition’s main focus is on building the Higg Index, a standardized brand and supply chain measurement tool for all industry participants to understand the environmental and social and labor impacts of making and selling products and services. The Higg Index delivers a holistic overview of the sustainability performance of a product or company – a big-picture perspective that is essential for progress to be made.

Salomon and Arc’teryx (part of Amer Sports Group) are currently piloting the suite of Higg Index tools (Brand Module, Facility Module, Design and Development Module) to measure their environmental and social and labor impacts and identify areas for improvement. The goal is to fully integrate these tools, recognized worldwide, into the everyday business of the brands
